Immigration Rules
Players aged 18 or older can apply for a Residence permit using the Fast Track or Pay
Limit Scheme. A permit will be granted for the length of the player9s contract; however,
initially, it is only valid for one year. Applications do not require any endorsement from
the Danish Football Federation unless the application is under the Special Individual
Qualifications scheme.
Player Requirements
Proof of accommodation to enter Denmark, ensuring they register as residents within
five days of obtaining a local address.
An employment contract with a Danish club.
Minimum salary requirements must be met (487,000 DKK (c €65k)) under the Fast
Track Scheme and (393,000 DKK (c. €53k) under the Pay Limit Scheme).
Dependents
Dependents, including spouses/partners and children under 18, can apply for a permit to
join the player, which will cover the same duration as the permit granted to the player.
They can freely study and work (though they cannot work for the same employer as the
main applicant). There are no minimum salary requirements or accommodation
requirements for dependents.
Applications
It can take up to one month for both visas to be issued. Certain nationals will require an
initial visa to enter Denmark. However, the Fast Track Scheme will allow players to start
playing football as soon as their biometrics are recorded. Permanent residence is
available after eight years of continuous residence.
