Immigration Rules
The most common visa is the Work Permit Exemption. The Work Permit Exemption
functions as both a work and residence permit, valid for the player9s contract duration.
Players can only work once their Work Permit Exemption has been approved. Certain
players considered acceptable by the TFF do not need a work permit. EU nationals may
enter on visitor status and apply for a sports visa if their contract exceeds 90 days.
Player Requirements
Letter from a Turkish club (affiliated with the TFF) outlining agreed contract terms.
Declaration of consent from the TFF or the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Travel Insurance.
Dependents
Spouses and children under 18 can accompany the visa holder. Dependents must apply
for residence permits, which allow children to study until the age of 18 and last for the
duration of the player9s permit.
Applications
A Work Permit Exemption can be made at a Turkish Embassy/Consulate in the player9s
country of residence. However, players who are eligible to travel visa-free can enter
Turkey and apply directly to the ministry from within the country.
This route can lead to permanent residency after eight years of continuous residence in
Turkey.
