Immigration Rules
The most common visa type for non-EU nationals is the Talent Passport, which is valid
for four years. This particular visa will usually be granted 8to persons that are likely to
make a significant or lasting contribution through their skills and talents in the
development of the French economy which includes sports, directly or indirectly9.
It provides a residence permit which will usually be valid for the duration of the athlete9s
employment. An endorsement by the French Football Federation (FFF) is not mandatory,
but it is useful.
Player Requirements
Evidence of sporting reputation at national or international level.
Proof of sufficient income from sporting activity and accommodation.
Relevant employment documents such as a K bis certificate and social security
affiliation.
Dependents
Dependents can accompany the player on a residence permit for the duration of the
player9s visa. They can study and work without restriction.
Applications
Applications must be made outside France at a French Embassy/Consulate of the
player9s country of residence. Visa processing typically takes 15 days with options to
expedite.
